Cadillac Repair: 2001 DHS, car ages, computor

Question
Can front ride height be adjusted mine seems low The rear height adjust with loads normally. Also my duct for a\c blows on floor and defrost sometimes. I assume a bad control in ducting. Can you tell me how to remove dashboard and access control motors. Thanks Jeff

Answer
Hi Jeff,

On your Caddy the ride height is controlled by the springs on the front struts. As a car ages the springs get weak, the front end begins to sag and then the springs need to get replaced to fix the ride height.

As for the air the best suggestion I can give you is to eithor purchase a factory GM shop manual set for your car or go to all data.com and subscribe to the service manual for your car. That way you will have all the info you need and it will have available at your computor. It can be printed out and taken to the car to do the tests or replacement. For me to type all that up would be too lengthly and haveing pictures would be a big help also. If it does turn out to be a defective motor for a mode door they can usually be changed without removeing the dash.

      Hope that helps. Bill
