Cadillac Repair: Very hard lock up on torque converter, tcc solenoid, torque converter

Question
1993 LeSabre, FWD, 4spd OD,  3.8 liter.  Since about 80k miles (now 135k) torque converter lockup and unlock very rough.  When converter locks up the car feels like it is lugging.  Trans was rebuilt at about 90k miles and it was pretty good but not perfect.  Now has degraded again and is really annoying.  When it starts to lug you can give it more gas and it unlocks and is smooth but sometimes I end up doing 75 to keep the thing unlocked and I am going to get a ticket.  I am fully capable of pulling transmission and replacing TC but I really don't want to go to the trouble if not pretty sure that is the problem.  Car is runnning right and getting 30 MPG so it is not a miss.  One experiment I would like to  try is to disconnect the wires from lockup solenoid.  Is there any danger or damage in doing that?  Where is connected?

Answer
Check the brake switch near the top of the brake pedal . One circuit will have battery voltage on both terminals this is your TCC solenoid circuit. When you step on the brakes you remove battery voltage to the TCC  solenoid.

No damage provided you eventually fix the problem.
