Cadillac Repair: 1994 seville SLS... Problem, seville sls, new computer system

Question
I bought this car 5 months ago... since then ive had to take it to the garage 7+ times (mainly due to over heating, caused by bad head gaskets)... i had got a warranty with it and that covered pretty much everything, but now the trany has gone... it is being rebuilt now(ill drolly end up paying $500ish for what the warranty docent cover)... and it seems that the computer system is going... ever since ive had it ive gotten strange warrning messages when nothing is wrong... over heating warrning when it is not, one time a low oil when the oil was just changed and a few others...

i see alot of questions on here related to mid 90's cadys' and the problems they have... so my question is, after the trany is rebuilt... would it be a good idea to get rid of it before something else happens... I only paid $2500 for the car and with cost of repairs about $3000...

If i would keep it... roughly how much would a new computer system run me (parts & labor)

Answer
Hi Tony,

Its kind of tough to advise you because you don't say what the mileage is and I can't look at the car first hand. That said maybe after the trans is repaired it will be trouble free for 6 months to a year...and then maybe you will continue to have problems. I would ask the shop doing the work to give you an appraisal of what they see might give you probems in the near future and what repairs they see that are also needed at this time. Then you can decide what to do. Bill
