Cadillac Repair: 84 Fleetwood Brougham, fleetwood brougham, vacuum line

Question
Below is your responses from my last question.  How do I verify vacuum in that line?  How do I troubleshoot the ECM for the issue you state below?

Make sure that it does NOT have any GAS in the vacuum line and that thetre IS vacuum in the vacuum line from the engine.

Very common for ECM failure.

There is also the probability that the ECM is grounding out the injectors all the time instead of pulsing the ground to the fuel injectors flooding the engine.

I heard you replaced the cat in your other question.

Answer
Pull the vacuum line OFF of the MAP sensor and make sure there is NO gas in it. Trace the line from the MAP sensor thru the firewall to where it connects to the manifold and blow in it FIRST at the MAP sensor end and then suck on it to be sure that you can pull air thru it.

ECM is by replacement ONLY. No tests exist.

Check your MAP sensor FIRST and see if it is a round metal or flat black plastic.
