Cadillac Repair: P024 VSS code question, power steering rack, code question

Question
I have a 94 Eldorado that is starting to shift hard into second gear at high rpms, and the speedometer will stop working sometimes also, but it seems more often when I am making a sharp turn.  I am getting the code P024 but would like to know where a good place to start with this would be?  Is there anyway to fix this without getting into the transmission?

Answer
Go back and display the Code P024 and the word Current (C) or HISTORY (H) will appear along with the code.

Tll me if the code is current or history.

Check the 2 wires that connect to the speed sensor which is located on the passengers side of the transmission on the top of the transmission and make sure that the wires are not rubbed thru from contacting the firewall or any parts of the power steering rack.

If you find a faulty wire, fix it and CLEAR the code from the computer and see if it re-appears.
