Cadillac Repair: Noise from Rear of my Cadillac Deville 2001, sway bar links, cadillac deville

Question
I have a Base Cadillac Deville 2001. I just had the electronic shocks changed about 4months ago thinking it was time. But still while driving i hear like rattling sounds. Also on my Info. I keeps seeing this ABS Current code. Now ABS light and Traction Control light is ON

Answer
Hi Arthur,

Noises are kind of strange in that they travel through the car and might not really come from where they originate. That said what I do is have someone I trust drive while I ride in the trunk and see where the noise seems to be comming from. Hopefully you can find a speed bump or rough road that is away from traffic and do a rattle test drive. If that doesn't help then stand outside the car near the bump and see if you can hear that way as the car goes past you. If I were to guess I would be looking at the rear stabalizer links/anti-sway bar links because they would rattle if worn out.

As for the ABS light it might just be a wire connector that was left unplugged from the wheelbearing in the back. If not hopefully you will see a wire connector unplugged in the back near the struts and plugging it in should make the light turn off. Hopefully its not a damaged wire or connector.

     Hope that helps. Bill
