Cadillac Repair: Service Ride Control Light, air shock, pcm data

Question
QUESTION: How do I clear the (Service Ride Control) from the computer.  There are no active codes and 2 codes in history which are PO52-Batt. disconnect and I039-Speed Sensitive Suspension Signal fault.  All fuses have been checked and the air shock has been repaired some time ago.  Car is a 95 Sedan Deville 4.9.  Thanks, Bryant

ANSWER: Perform the sequence that you did to get the codes.

When you see PCM?   Perform this clearing procedure.

1. Push and release the HI button and you will see PCM DATA?

2. Keep pushing and releasing the LO button until you see PCM CLEAR CODES?

3. Push and release the HI button and you will see PCM CODES CLEAR. This clears the "P" codes.

4. Turn OFF ignition.

To clear the "I" code:

Perform the sequence that you did to get the codes.

When you see PCM?   Perform this clearing procedure.

1. Push and release the LO button and you will see IPC?

1. Push and release the HI button and you will see IPC DATA?

2. Keep pushing and releasing the LO button until you see IPC CLEAR CODES?

Wait 2 minutes and drive the car and see if the check engine light or any message displays set and if they DO, Re-check for codes and note that along with each code will be the word CURRENT or HISTORY.

QUESTION: The P codes cleared and stayed clear.  The "I" code in history did clear but after driving a short distance, the code I039 returned to history and the "Service Ride Control" message came on again.  What now???  Thanks, Bryant

Answer
You either have an open circuit in the 800 DATA LINE between the modules which will require a diagnostics scanner to locate the open circuit OR you have a faulty RSS module. A faulty RSS module is the most common fault but not always.

I can provide you with a picture location of the RSS module if you e-mail me at: onlineautohelp@msn.com
