QuestionQUESTION: I recently had my air condition system recharged. I cleared the codes from the computer. This appears B441 & B552 HISTORY...It says no ECM Codes BUT...the COOLING FAN FAULT appears on the radio for several seconds then disappears.. It continually appears and shuts off.
How do I eliminate this code pattern...??
ANSWER: If you CLEARED the BCM codes correctly and then re-entered diagnostics, The 2 HISTORY codes would NOT be displayed.

QUESTION: Ignition on..Engine off.Simultaneously push and hold the off and warmer buttons on the climate control panel for 3 seconds and release them. Codes will appear and then you will see ECM. Push and release the HI button and see the ECM Daa. Push and release the lO button repeatedly until I saw the ECM CLEAR CODES. PUSH AND RELEASE THE HI BUTTON and saw ECM Codes Clear.Wait 3 seconds. Push and release the LO button and you will see BCM. Push and release the Hi button and you will see BCM DATA. Push and release the LO button repeatedly until you see BCM CLEAR CODES. ANSWER: You did NOT follow the proper procedure for clearing the BCM codes. Here it is:
1. Ignition ON, Engine OFF.
2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons on your climate control panel for 3 seconds and release them.
3. CODES will appear along with the word CURRENT or HISTORY with each code displayed on the fuel data panel.
4. The display will stop at ECM.
5. Push and release the HI button and you will see BCM?
6. Keep pushing and releasing the LO button until you see BCM CLEAR CODES?
7. Push and release the HI button and you will see BCM CODES CLEAR.
8. Wait 3 seconds and turn ignition OFF.
9. Wait 2 minutes and repeat steps 1 thru 4.
Let me know what codes appaear and if the code is CURRENT or HISTORY which will display with each code that displays.

QUESTION: I did above recommended procedure to erase codes twice. Previously it said B442,B552. Then it said NO BCM CODES.
The car with A/C on has reoccurring COOLING FAN FAULT messages after I cleared the BCM Codes. The fan is working fine and the A/C is cold. This message will disappear within 30-40 seconds...Do I have an actual COOLING FAN FAULT or maybe sometyhing else..

AnswerLet the car run or drive itr close to home for awhile and see if the B441 code re-appaers as a HISTORY or CURRENT code and let me know. The most common fault would be with the COOLING FAN CONTROL MODULE and or the COOLING FAN RELAY.
