Cadillac Repair: cadillac BCM, climate control, bcm

Hello,on my 92 deville I purchased a used BCM from qaulity auto parts,Installed it and it didnt work.They say I have to take it to the dealer to have it reset before it will work? Is this true. Thanks

WHY di the new BCM not work ?. What was happening ?. did the climate control panel read 151 and when you turned the key ON nothing happened ?. or the fuel data panel is blank and when you turned the key ON nothing happened ?.

NO it is NOT true that it has to be programmed. Ask quality auto parts if the BCM that you bought has the PROM installed inside of the BCM.

If it does NOT have a PROM inside of it, You have to remove your old prom from your old BCM and install it in your new one.
