Cadillac Repair: fan will not operate 1987 sedan deville, coolant temperature sensor, power fuse


Question
I have the service manual and my fan will not operate unless i ground one of the lines to one fan and hot wire the red and white from the relay. disconnecting the signal lead to the module. Question i have power on the black side of the module plug but no ground on the red side. New engine runs perfect yet mechanic says the lead from the relay fuse has no power ,fuse is good and no shortage in line ,new module ,new relay ,new fans  HELP  DEALER WANTS THREE DAYS TO LOOK FOR - SOMETHING SIMPLE LOVE THIS CAR -JUST DON'T LIKE TROUBLE SHOOTING -WHERE I HAVE EVERY THING TO VINTAGE

Hi Richard,

       Since you have the manual turn to page 8D2-23 and follow the trouble code tree for code F41 and see what you come up with. Right now the BCM/body computer module and wiring still need to be tested. There is also a possibility that the fan control module might be bad but unless you continue to test you might as well just have the shop do the troubleshooting because that is something that I can't do from here. It could be as simple as the coolant temperature sensor wire connector being unplugged. Bill
