Cadillac Repair: brake vacumm problem, vacuum hose, cadillac deville

Question
Im sorry, I sent a question yesterday to one of you guys inquiring about the "brake vacumm problem" read out on my dash in the 1996 Cadillac Deville. What can be done to fix the problem? I have to press down hard to make sure the car stop and I have to start breaking early. Its no sqeaking, ssqweeling or grinding.

Answer
There is a large vacuum hose that attaches to the brake booster, With the engine running, disconnect this hose from the booster and quickly put your thumb over the hose to see if you have vacuum.

Listen very carefully as you step on the brake pedal with the engine running and if you hear a hissing sound, Replace the brake booster.
