QUESTION: Battery is now 1 year old.  It is an O.E. Delco replacement battery.  Battery will not discharge when disconnected at both  poles for weeks.  I have a friend who has a 96 Corvette with the same problem.  I have a digital battery charger I connect when the car is not driven for a few days.  This has been an ongoing problem for a long time and no one in Southern Oklahoma can come up with a solution.  Hope you can help me.  Thanks in advance, Bryant
ANSWER: Check the amperage draw on the battery when you go to leave it set for the night. It should only draw 1/2 amp from the battery due to the computers.

QUESTION: With my test meter set on 2000m scale on DC amps, meter reads 252 which I think is .25 amps draw.  Is this correct??  If so, it is within the 1/2 amp. draw.  If this is correct, what next??  To keep my sanity, I really need a solution to this problem.  Thanks, Bryant

Answer
.25 amps is IMPOSSIBLE.

Put your meter on the 2 amp scale and it should read .50 to .55 amps which is NORMAL.

There is a possibility that you have a leak in your air shock suspension and the air shock pump is running numerous times over the night trying to put air back into the shocks which will run down the battery. . You would have to unplug the air pump and see if the battery holds a charge overnight and see if the rear of the car is way down in the morning.
