QuestionQUESTION: hi i was wondering if you could help me out i have a 93 cadillac seville sts northstar 4.6 the problem im having if when the car heats up it runs like crap feels like it wants to stall but wont the rpms jump around from any were as low as 400 and as hig to 1200 once it does this but only wen its idling if im drinving it it feels like there is bad plugs and wires but like i said it only does it when the car is hot i was tld by a few ppl it can be my gauge cluster as it is a computer itself and sends information back to the main computer but i have no error codes or check engine lights on even when it runs liek crap no error messages come up please help me out thnx
ANSWER: It is NOT your gage cluster.
Cadillac's are famous for fuel pumps getting hot and losing pressure to the engine.

QUESTION: yea thats one a the things i was told liek i said it only did it wen it got hot now its doing it all the time feels lieka engine miss fire now im getign told its my accelerometer or my ignition module i mean with the rpms and it miss firing and everything do you still think its the fuel pump ?please help me out
ANSWER: Your accelerometer is for your vehicles suspension system and has NOTHING to do with the engine.
Normally a faulty ignition module will set a CHECK ENGINE light or a message display if it is malfunctioning.
You can put an external fuel pump pressure tester on the fuel rail and see what the pressure is doing.
It is pretty hard to diagnose this kind of fault without seeing the vehicle . I can only go by history.

QUESTION: yea i understand how it would be hard but woudl an error message come up if it was the pcm making the car run like this ?
ANSWER: You can heck for codes:
1. ignition ON. Engine OFF.
2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons on your climate control panel for 3 seconds and release them.
3. CODES will appaer in the form of letters and numbers and then will stop displaying.
4. On the fuel data panel, Tell me exactly how the codes display and if they are CURRENT or HISTORY as if you were video taping them.
5. Turn ignition OFF

What CODES are you getting from the computers ?. The speed sensor may be causing erratic transmission shifting causing your problem.
