Cadillac Repair: CADILLAC A/C CODES A011 & A012, c programmer, trouble tree

Question
HELLO. I HAVE A 1995 SEVILLE STS. I HAVE PUT A NEW COMPRESSOR ON THIS CAR, ORFICE TUBE, AND THE 2 SENSORS ON THE LIQUID LINE IN FRONT OF THE FIREWALL ( THESE ARE THE CODED A011 AND A012 SENSORS). IT WAS COLD FOR ABOUT 24 HOURS, THEN THE COMPRESSOR KICKED OFF. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SHOP, IT CYCLED FOR ABOUT 20 SECONDS THEN SHUT OFF AGAIN. THE CODE A011 CAME BACK UP. CHANGEDTHE SENSOR AGAIN... NO LUCK. COULD THE COMPRESSOR BE BAD OR IT THERE A RELAY THAT COULD BE BAD. ANY GOOD ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AS THIS TASK IS DRIVING ME UP THE WALL!
THANK YOU.

Answer
Hi Shon,

The first place to start is to hook up the gauges and see what the high and low pressure readings are. Maybe all the freon leaked out due to a defective seal. Like you stated the compressor could be bad. The a/c programmer could also be defective and not allowing the compressor to engage.

What I would recommend if the freon is full is to follow the trouble tree useing a shop manual and see where the problem is. You could get a copy from your Caddy dealer or better yet subscribe to alldata.com for your car and then you will have all the repair info at your computor and can be printed out.

Since I can't be there to fix it for you let me know what happens with the checks if you need more help. Bill
