Cadillac Repair: ENGINE LIGHT ON, cadillac seville, battery cables

please tell me how to reset my 1994 cadillac seville engine light. i have already replaced electronic items that the computer said i needed, map sensor , coolant sensor etc. ive tried everything. i even called the dealer who suggested touching both battery cables together

Tell me that you DID NOT touch the battery cables together as you will destroy the electronics in the car.

1. Ignition key in the ON position. Engine NOT running.

2. On the climate control panel simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons for 3 seconds and release them.

3. Diagnostic codes will display in a LETTER/NUMBER display on the fuel display and will stop at PCM.

4. Write down the LETTER/NUMBER combination and note just below when the code displays if you see the word HISTORY or CURRENT.

5. Turn OFF ignition key.

6. Tell me the code or codes you got.
