Cadillac Repair: vehicle speed sensor, vehicle speed sensor, rear wheel speed

QUESTION: I have a 96 deville and I'm trying to find exactly where the vehicle speed sensor is on the transmission. My speedometer is at 0 and does not change.

ANSWER: It is located on top of the transmission on the passengers side on front wheel drive vehicles and it has 2 electrical wires attached to it.

QUESTION: Thanks Tom. I didn't solve my problem though. My speedometer still isn't working and I also have a fault code (P0502 Vehicle Speed Sensor a circuit low input) and my Antilock and traction control warning lights are on. Any ideas?
ANSWER: Did you replace the speed sensor or at least test it ?.

QUESTION: Thanks Tom. Found my problem. Had a broken connector to the rear wheel speed sensors. My Cadi now is almost well. I failed smog big time. Super high HC 243 and 249, NO 675 and 712, and CO .49 and .48. I don't have any codes in the system. I am getting a service ride control when I hop on the freeway. Any Ideas?

There is a product called TOP ENGINE CLEANER which removes the carbon from on top of the pistons by warming up the engine to normal operating speed and pouring the heavy liquid down the throttle bore (air intake in order to stall out the engine.

You should have about half a can left or more.

let it set over night and the next morning it will be hard to start but once you get it running and back to normal operating temp, Hold the rpm's at about 1500 or so and slowly pour the rest of the liquid down the throttle bore so as NOT to stall out the engine until the can is empty and keep the car running until it runs correctly at an idle and all the smoke has disapated from the exhaust.
