checked for codes on my 1984 cadillac fleetwood with the 4.1 eng. could you tell me what these codes are 21, and 37?

Answer
21 = Shorted throttle position sensor.

37 = Shorted MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE sensor (MAP).


What you need to do is CLEAR the codes from the computer and see which one comes back.

1. When you enter into diagnostics and the display stops at .7.0, Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and HI buttons until .o.o appears and release the buttons.

2. turn key OFF. Wait 2 minutes and turn key ON and re-enter diagnostics and see if either code appears 3 times.
