Cadillac Repair: 98 cadillac cater oil light, beep sound, oil light

my oil light always comes on after i drove the car a few miles ( i guess when it is hot ) it makes a long beep sound and it stays on until the car is shut off and cooled them will come on again...

Hi Minny,

      The first thing to do is to check the engine oil level and add if needed. If the oil is at the top of the full range and the light still comes on it could be a sensor that is defective, at wire problem, a gauge problem or something mechanical with the engine and your mechanic would need to check it out.

      If the oil sensor isn't too much money you could try replacing it yourself otherwise I would take it in and have a diagnostic done soon just to make sure there isn't any damage being done. Bill
