Cadillac Repair: Cadillac Eldorando Barritz 1990, number combinations, barritz

Question
I recently changed my battery.  After I did, the digital instrument panel and the information centre lights would not work.  Can you help me?
Thank you.

Answer
Try pushing the TRIP RESET button.

Are you POSITIVE that you did not accidentally loosen any of the BLACK ground wires that are fastened to the sheet metal near the battery ?.

Lets see if you have any computer fault codes:

1. Turn ignition key ON.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons on your climate control panel for 3 seconds and all of the instrument panel control lights and the climate control panel lights should illuminate. If ANY of the lights do NOT illuminate on the climate control display it MUST be replaced. See if any LETTER/NUMBER combinations appear on the display.

3. Write down the LETTER/NUMBER combinations that appear on the display EXACTLY as if you were video taping them.

4. If you have the ability to video tape, E-mail the video to me at: onlineautohelp@msn.com.

5. Once the display stops displaying and displays ECM or PCM, Turn OFF the ignition key.

Codes will appear such as E032 CURRENT CODE or HISTORY CODE or any other letter/number combination.

If Codes B336 or B556 HISTORY or CURRENT appear this is MOST important.

If you get lost trying to write down all the code information, Simply turn OFF the ignition key, wait 30 seconds and start over.
