QUESTION: i cleared codes and E39 and F48 came up what are these

Answer
E39 = Viscous converter clutch in the transmission is not operating correctly.

F48 = Refrigerant system problem. Most likely the system is low on freon.

Did you convert the system from R-12 freon to R-134 freon ?. If you did, in order to get rid of the 48 code you have to switch back to the R-12 freon as the low pressure sensor is NOT calibrated for R-134 freon.

Are the codes displaying as .E39 and or .E.E39 and the "F" code as .F48 and or .F.F48 ?

Disconnecting the battery will NOT clear the codes.

here is the procedure:

Re-enter back into diagnostics and after the codes appear you will see .7.0

Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and HI buttons until E.0.0 appears and release the buttons. This will clear the "E" code.

Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and LO buttons until F.0.0 appears and release the buttons. This will clear the "F" code.
