Cadillac Repair: re: 97 cadillac deville, cadillac deville, battery voltage

Question
The car will not start, checked the battery it is ok
It started 2 weeks ago, I went to start it and got nothing
all lights were on but not clicking. it sat all day and I went to start it again and on the 2nd try it started, it seemed like I jingled the ignition right before it started.
I just had someone put in a flasher before that and he said he had to drop the steering column to do it. Do you think he could have loosened something in the ignition or would you assume it was the starter.

Answer
It is possible that a wire connection got stretched within the connectors and has only an intermittent contact. You will need to physically inspect the connections under the dash.

Check for battery voltage to the "S" wire on the starter when this fault happens again with the key in the START position.
