Cadillac Repair: battery not charging light, driveing, loose wire

when i drive my car most of the time my battery not charging light comes on. but the battery is charging cause i never have trouble starting or driving my car. when it comes on it'll stay on and go away . when i stop at red light or something and turn my wheel slightly the light will go away . im not sure if it's a loose wire or if it's another problem ?

      Not knowing what year and model car you have I can't get too specific. However checking the belt to make sure it is tight and in good shape can turn off the light. Also if the light goes off when you are driveing and comes on when you are not moveing might mean the idle speed of the engine is too slow or you have too many things on electrically for the alternator to be able to supply enought amperage to run everything.

     If you don't see anything there then it would be worthwhile going to your mechanic and haveing him put a chargeing system testor on the car to test the alternator and its output. You could have a diode inside that is weak or has gone bad and replaceing the alternator is what would be needed to turn off the light.
