I was told that could be problem by MX shop. I think it was in wiring I straighted wires out from the switch and car ran fine and would start when shut off. Only problem now is elec fan on radiator doesn't run>

The modualator in the security theft system on my 1989 cadillac seville is faulty. How do I bypass this system in order to start the car? Sometimes the car starts, sometimes it doesnt.Yesterday while driving down the highway, the car completly shutdown, died.!!!!!,,,then soon as the car sat for a period of time then it started, no problem. It seems like something electrical gets hot which shuts the car down. Anyone with some information that would help me resolve this problem, I would truly appreciate it, ThankYou!

I have 1989 cad seville. when car gets warmed up it shuts engine down and starer won't engage until car colls down. I was told probably security system modulator on stering colum. How do I bypass or fix

Check the "S" terminal at the starter for battery voltage when you try and start the car and it won't start. If you have battery voltage at the "S" terminal during this no start period, replace the starter as it is heat sensitive.

Are you getting a CHECK ENGINE light or display message on the dash and if so what code are you getting or what does the display say ?.
Answer1. Ignition ON. Engine OFF.
2. Simultaneously push and release the OFF and WARMER buttons for 3 seconds and then release them.
3. Diagnostic codes will display and then they will stop.
4. tell me what codes you get.
5. turn ignition off.
Are you POSITIVE it says REAR DOOR OPEN or does it say REAR DOOR AJAR ?
