Cadillac Repair: error 39, prom chip, cadillac deville

it says error wich i know is the vcc how do i fix this problem  ... i read on a forum about replacing a prom chip or something

I do not know of any PROM chip that will fix this VCC code.

Need YEAR and MODEL of vehicle as the fault is usually the VCC solenoid which is inside of the transmission side cover behind the drivers front wheel on the transmission.
sorry ... it is a 1988 cadillac deville 4.5 engine 105k miles on it

I can provide you with the test procedures and pictures of how to diagnose the code 39. But in 90% of all cases such as this, It will require partial removal of the transmission in order to replace the VCC solenoid which is located under the side cover pan of the transmission.
