Cadillac Repair: Service Eng Light, torque converter clutch, carfax report

94 Cad Deville 4.9L V-8.  Just bought this car with a clean carfax report

Service Engine soon light came on.  With Ignition on and eng off, pressed and held the off and warmer buttons for 3 seconds.  This is what we saw:

P039 History
No IPC Codes
No ACP Codes
No SIR Codes
PCM?

It just stayed on the last display.  We do not have a Hi button to reset the history.  Turned off the ignition with the same result.  First, what's wrong and second, how do we reset the codes.  Thanks for your help.

P039 = Torque Converter Clutch circuit problem.

Your fault is most likely the solenoid that controls the Torque Converter Clutch.
