Question -
I have a 1989 Fleetwood Cadillac and I am getting the following codes.
1) ..E
2) 8.8.8
3) E13
4) E38
5) E30
6) E52
7).E.E
8) .7.0
I was wondering could you tell me what they mean

Answer -
E = the beginning sequence to display the HISTORY codes.
E13 = oxygen sensor not ready.
E38 = Open manifold air temp circuit.
E30 = RPM error to great.
E52 = Battery was disconnected in the past.
EE = the beginning to start the CURRENT fault codes.
70 = A switch test procedure. (is NOT a code. Just another
    test sequence.

What you need to do is CLEAR all these codes and see what comes back.

Do this:

1. Ignition ON, Engine OFF.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons for 3 seconds.

3. All the above codes will display and will stop at .7.0

4. Simultaneously push and hold the oFF and HI buttons until you see E.0.0 and release the buttons.

5. Turn OFF the ignition.

Drive the car and see what codes come back.

Answer -
Did you CLEAR all the codes like I told you and then drive the car and now ALL the same codes PLUS the F48 all came back ON ?.

Answer
E38 = MAT (manifold absolute temperature) sensor is most likely faulty. Purchase a new one and you will be able to see what it looks like in order to find it on your engine.

F48 = Low refrigerant pressure. NOTE: If you converted your R12 system over to the new R134 system of freon this is why the code is showing up and to date there is no resolution as the sensor is incompatable with the R134 freon.
