Cadillac Repair: 2000 Cadillac Escalade Starter?, blowing the fuses, autozone

Question
Ive got a 2000 cadillac escalade.v8. As I try to start the car I get all my idiot lights (which are stong and solid so the battery is good. The car will not turn over or start.I get nothing but 1 click (which im guessing its the solenoid engaging)then no sound whatsoever. After trying to crank it over it blows out my ignition fuse.I replaced the ignition fuse and tried to crank it once again. It started after pressing and holding my gas pedal down for 5-10 seconds.Everytime I try to start the car it does the same thing.Ive blown 2 of the same fuses.I took it to autozone and they test my battery and alternator and they were both fine. They said I would have to remove my starter for them to test it.Could the problem be my ignition lock cylinder?starter?passkey system not reading chip?Ive had this problem for 4or 5 days now. Before blowing the fuses the car would start after 5-10min of me "working" the gas pedal.I know if I keep it held down too long it will drain my battery ,so I hope its not my starter. How can it be if the car starts? Any help would be greatly appreciated.....Matt

Answer
You can have a FLAT SPOT on the armature within the starter and when the starter hits this FLAT spot no electricity can be conducted thru the armature. the starter will ahve to be tested.

And as far as holding down the gas pedal all you are doing is making it harder for the car to start and ONLY EXERCISING YOUR FOOT. Your doing absolutely NOTHING by pressing the gas pedal.
