Cadillac Repair: traction controll, cadillac sts, fuse block

Question
hi tom, i have a 1995 cadillac sts with the northstar 4.6l. i replaced both my shift solenoids due to breakage with updated style on the 4t80-e transmission  but i believe the car had this problem previously. i have a code po.61 and traction controll disabled appears across the message center, the transmission is defauting to second gear. i have some diagnostic info but it seems time consuming, are there any common problems with this code, or can i simply competely dissable the system. any information would be valuable,thanks mike

Answer
Does the cruise control work ?.

Are you blowing fise # D1 (10 amp) in the engine compartment fuse block.

There is a correlation between this fuse and the transaxle shift Shift A and B solenoids in the transmission.

because code P061 is a fault code for the cruise control.

Let's get this P061 code fixed first and see if your trans problem is resolved.

Check this above said fuse to see if it is blown.

let me know.
