Cadillac Repair: ventilations system, cadillac service, vent system

Question
1993 touring sadan de ville.  Only a small amount of air is delivered fromthe system.  a new blower wqs installed and no improvement.  Cadillac service says the condenser is clogged and want $1000 to fix it.  does this sound right to you.  thanks

Condensor clogged ?. I don't think so.

Your most likely problem is IF your blower motor can be heard running, CAN IT ?.


If you can hear it running the problem is most likely your programmer which controls the damper door to let the air into the vent system.

Open up the glove box and remove the liner and using aflash light you will see a threaded rod attached to a white plastic clip and the other end attaches to the damper door.

As you adjust your system from full heat and back to full A/C this metal arm should move back and forth in a QUIET SMOOTH manner. Does it ?. If it does NOT, You need to replace the programmer.
