Cadillac Repair: ABS Brake System, brake pads and rotors, cadillac sedan deville

Question
1994 Cadillac Sedan Deville 4.9L  - I just had new front brake pads and rotors and rear brake pads replaced on my DeVille by a local shop.  After leaving the shop I pumped the brakes to build pressure.  Drove the car a few miles and lost all brake action.  I got the car to the shop and they found two broken brake lines in the rear (they were very rusty and original lines).  I had them replaced along with a new serpentine belt.  The car now stops fine but the anti-lock light is on and I don't believe the anti-lock brake portion of the system is working.  Is there any way to re-set this system or do I have to take it to a shop to have them test and re-set the codes?  Any advice would be appreciated. I did unhook the battery for a few minutes to see if that would reset the light - did not work.

Answer
My GOD, That is one shop I would NEVER EVER take my car in to be worked on.

When you do brakes you always replace the rear and both front brake rubber lines, resurface/replace the rotors when you replace the brakes.

You need to re-bleed the brakes as well as the BRAKE PRESSURE MODULATOR VALVE to get all the air out of the system.

Check to see if you have any CODES stored in the computer and let me know what they are.

Your darn lucky that you did not get into an accident.
