Answer
Hi Mike, I'll start with the theft message first. What sometimes happens is the little pellet in the key can get dirty and confuse the computor as to what the resistance is. You could try the other key...but that could be difficult unless you can get the lock cylinder to turn to get it out...clean the key with a mild cleaner like rubbing alcohol or peroxide...again tough to do if the key can't be removed or take the steering column appart to get the lock cylinder out and see what is causeing the key to not turn. There is a gear on the end of the lock cylinder that engages another gear that is flat and what happens is the flat gear can bend, break or bind up and that would cause the cylinder not to turn. While you had the cylinder out you could check the 2 small wires comming out of the cylinder and find 1 of the wires ready to break in 2 pieces.

As for the fan if it is the inside fan for the a/c then the first thing to do is check the fuse. There is also a module called a power module under the hood kind of below the RH wiper area. If the fan were making a growling noise before it quit then replaceing the blower motor and the power module would be necessary. Otherwise you could make some jumper wires and hook 1 up to the positive battery terminal and the blower motorwhere the purple wire goes and the other terminal needs to be grounded. If the motor is noisy or doesn't produce enough airflow then it needs to get replaced. If the motor runs at normal speed and sound then maybe the fuse or power module is defective. It would be a good idea to replace the blower motor if you determine that the power module is defective otherwise you can ruin an otherwise good power module.

Hope that helps explain things. Let me know if you need anymore help. Bill
