Cadillac Repair: 1986 Cadillac Sedan DeVille Codes, cadillac sedan deville, e47

Question
I obviously don't know how to clear the codes out correctly, because they keep coming back.  Can you tell me how to do it correctly so that I can give you accurate info.

Thanks

Question -
I figured since it was completely discharged that I didn't need to vacuum it down, I've done many cars and have never needed to vacuum down, I thought this one would be the same.  So to answer your question, no, i didn't vacuum it down and don't even know how to.  But what would that have to do with the switches not having power.  I thought i might have a bad switch problem.  Any idea what the codes E47 and E52 are?

Thanks!

Question -
I was given an 1986 Caddy Sedan DeVille, after getting rid of some bad gas from sitting, the car runs great, but no AC, the blower runs fine, but the compressor won't kick in. I know the system was completely discharged because of a leak which we fixed and it had already been converted to R134, we  replaced the missing R134 but the compressor won't kick in, the two switches, the low pressure switch and the other hooks into the high pressure side of the line, do not light up my test light when I try to see if there is any power going to them.

I ran the check with the Ignition on, and the codes that I got were E47 and E52

Answer -
Did you evacuate the system of air using a vacuum pump BEFORE you added the freon ?. This is a MUST.

Answer -
E47 = BCM (computer) -ECM (computer) data problem.

E52 = ECM memory reset. You most likely disconnected the battery atone time.

CLEAR your codes and see which ones come back.

Answer
1. Ignition ON. Engine OFF.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons until the whole display illiminates and release the buttons.

3. As soon as you see the codes appearing IMMEDIATELY push the OFF and HI buttons until you see E.0.0  OR after releasing the OFF and WARMER buttons wait until you see .7.0 and then push the OFF and HI buttons until you see E.0.0

4. Push AUTO to exit.

5. Then recheck to see what codes come back and let me know what they are.
