Cadillac Repair: Trouble code P085 high idle throttle angle 95 deville, motor actuator, throttle plate

Question
I have a 95 cadi deville with the 4.9l engine.  Car had been running fine when the check engine light came on and the idle seemed to be stuck pretty high.  I had replaced the Idle Control Motor/actuator about 2 years ago, so i replaced the motor and re-adjusted the rpms to 550 and cleared the codes.  The check light keeps coming back on when i run the OBD and P085 keeps coming back.  Going deeper into the system it shows that the angle is 4.1 degrees.  Along with the high idle the car seemed to be getting ready to overheat when i shut it down the day the check engine light came on, could this be an indicator of another problem or something electrical/sensor related.  Car still runs and starts but heats up pretty fast.  I cant seem to figure out what the problem is, any help to fix this problem would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

Answer
Are your cooling fans coming ON ?.

What's your fuel pressure ?. Is it within specs ?.

P085 = Idle angle to high.

Could be a faulty Idle control motor.

Take a look at the throttle plate and see if it is covered with a black residue. If it is clean both sides of the throttle plate as well as the throttle bore and spray a little cleaner in the by-pass hole just below the throttle plate that is the channel for your idle control motor as this crud has a nasty habit of keeping the throttle plate from seating .
