Cadillac Repair: replaced my fuel filter now my caddy sputters, fuel pressure gauge, throttle position sensor

heyi recently replaced my fuel filter in my 90 fleetwood fwd and it ran for about 30min with out any problems now its nearly undriveable every time i step on the footfeed it sputters and threatens to die  please help me i m @ my wits end.......

Hi C, It could be just a coinsidence but there could be a problem with the throttle position sensor or fuel pressure being too low. If the service engine light same on then checking the codes by pushing off and warmer on the climate control panel with the key on will display them and that is a good place to start.

    The fuel pressure might be low. The fuel filter can sometimes be installed in eithor direction but internally the filter allows the fuel to flow at full force in only one direction. Look at the body of the filter and see that the arrow is pointing towards the engine. If it is then hooking up a fuel pressure gauge would be a good idea.

     Past that it would be a matter of doing a diagnostic to see where the problem is. Let me know if you need more help. Bill
