Cadillac Repair: A/C compressor, r 134a, 134a conversion

Hi, I own a 1992 STS and my a/c refrigerant was really low. im assuming i had a leak in the lines. but anyway, i bought an r-12 to r-134a conversion kit which included the low pressure and high pressure fittings and 3 cans of refridgerant and oil with some stop leak stuff. I got all of the R-12 out of the system and i changed the fitting and then i go to charge it but the a/c compressor won't turn on. I was hoping you could help me out. i read a few other threads and they all said write down the codes.  Well i have 8 codes that are all say HISTORY but two say CURRENT. That code is E048 and AO47. Thanx

E048 = EGR fault.

A047 = Low refrigerant (freon) charge.
