Cadillac Repair: Opera Lights, fleetwood brougham, amp fuse

Question
I recently bought a 1990 Fleetwood Brougham which has been stretched (in 1990) by Ambruster Stageway.  The vehicle is absolutely beautiful and has had meticulous maintenance.
The opera lights do not light.  They are on the exterior between the front door and begining of the stretch area and seem to be standard issue from Cadillac.  I contacted 'Cadillac Only' an exclusively Cadillac dismantler and they have sent me two replacement 'bulbs'.  I have replaced them and they do not illuminate.  The 'bulbs' fit exactly and have the same exact connector as mine.  They appear to be a sealed beam of some sort.
Are they supposed to run on 12VDC?  I have been told they require an 'inverter'.  I have hunted and find in the trunk a connector which is connected to nothing and has a 20 amp fuse linking it to the harness.  It does have 12VDC when the lights (parking or driving) are turned on.  If there is supposed to be an inverter, what does it convert the power to?  If it is 120VAC I have an inverter installed for computer and misc. use could use this for this purpose.  Thanks for any help you might be able to provide me.  The car is elegant and I would like to complete it's look at night.
Thanks,  Rick

Answer
Hi Rick, I tried to research the opera lights and I can't find a wireing diagram that will help you out. Sometimes what happens is the conversion company creates their own wireing and parts so this might be one of those times. Hopefully you can trace the wires and determine where the inverter needs to go to make this system work. Otherwise going to a shop that repairs limos would be an option. Sorry I can't help anymore than that. Bill
