Cadillac Repair: 90 Deville 4.5L E53 Error Code, digital volt meter, jumper lead

Question
Good Morning,

Have been having a stalling problem with my 1990 Deville 4.5 L engine 47,000 miles. Fuel pump, and Pipes holding pump in the tank and gas filter replaced based on mechanic recommendation but stalling stil the same. The error code is E53 Distributor Signal Interupt, I clear the code and every time it stalls it resets the E53. The battery is new and the connections are immaculate. Also the wires to the distrubutor all look solid. Note the car runs solid and idles smooth besides the stalling when you come to a dead stop at a stop sign or light.

What should I look at next?
1. Could it be a fuse or Relay? Where is it located?
2. Should I take the distributor a part and what would cause this? The control module?

Any help to pin point the proble would be very usefull.

Thanks,

Marc

Answer
Follow this procedure:

1. Disconnect distributor 6 way connector near distributor.

2. Jumper harness connector terminal "B" to to distributor terminal "B".

3. Jumper harness connector terminal "D" to to distributor terminal "D".

4. Connect your digital volt meter POSITIVE lead to Jumper lead "B".

5. Connect your digital volt meter NEGATIVE lead to jumper lead "D".

6. Crank engine and note voltage and tell me what the voltage is.
