Cadillac Repair: 1987 cadillac el dorado wont start, cadillac el dorado, lock cylinder


Question
my 1987 el dorado wont start.it has a new battery and has power to all systems.the lock cylinder is tight.no noise no clicks .just will not turn over.tried to reset factory alarm.as far as i can tell it is.no noise from engine when i try and turn it over.i guess that is all i can say.i heard maybe ignition switch?

Could be:

The lock cylinder where you insert your key.

The electrical ignition switch mounted on the steering column under the dash.



You need to see if your getting ignition to the starter.
