Cadillac Repair: tranny, bright pink color, brownish color

Question
I have a '96 Caddy STS with 115,000 miles.  Recently, the transmission went from driving perfectly to complete failure within the span of three or four days.  It started slipping on my wife so I checked it out.  I checked the fluid, it was a bit low so I topped it off.  Then I took it for a spin.  When it was cold it was fine but the warmer the engine got the more it slipped until it stopped moving.  It was dificult to get the shift into park.   It won't move at all now.  Do trannys fail that quickly or can it be something else?

Answer
Transmissions can fail at any time. You need to have a pressure test done on the trans to determine what he pressures are.

If the fluid was a brownish color insted of a bright pink color, The clutches are burnt in the trans and it will have to come out for internal inspection.
