Cadillac Repair: 1996 Cadillac Deville Cooling Fan Issues, head gasket, cadillac deville

My 1996 Cadillac Deville AC Compressor stopped working and started blowing my 10 amp fan relay fuse. I disconnected the the AC Compressor and my cooling fans work only when I press the AC auto and recirculation buttons on the instrument panel.  I drive the car a few miles and I get an A/C Compressor Off read out on my display panel and the auto mode reverts to the econ mode, which causes the cooling fans to stop working and causes the temperature to rise rapidly.  Is there anyway to overide this situation and allow the cooling fans to remain on while I drive the vehicle to a repair shop. Otherwise, the vehicle will overheat and blow a head gasket. Thanks.

This problem is going to take quite a few diagnostic procedures in order to find your problem.
