Cadillac Repair: 1987 Cadillac Eldorado AC problem, cadillac eldorado, magnetic clutch

Question
Sorry for not including that detail.  I asked my parents and all they can remember is the Cadillac dealership said the "circuit board was bad and had to be replaced" when the car was taken in for the AC problems several times in a row.  It was about 5 years ago and the price was around $800 dollars.  The AC not running cold when it was taken in and the circuit board was replaced.  It ran cold after that but has had to have various repairs since.  The current issue with the fuse has been ongoing for the last year or so.  Other than the AC problem, there are no other issues with the car which has less than $50,000 miles and my Mom is the only owner.  If this is not enough info for getting technical help, please let me say thank you for taking the time to reply and for the attempt to assist me.

Best regards,
Robin

My Mom's 1987 Cadillac Eldorado air conditioner continues to blow the AC fuse.  When replaced, the air conditioner works fine and the air is very cold but within a few minutes to 15 or so minutes, it blows the fuse again.  I've taken it to a few places but so far only one has wanted to take on the job and at a price of $1700.00 with no guarantee they can fix it.  Can you tell me where I might start to find a fix?  I am thinking it might be a short or either the air conditioner is needing to be completely replaced.  The circuit board was replaced 4 or 5 years back but other than maintenance, the AC has had no problems until this fuse issue.

Thanks for any help or a point in the right direction,
Robin

WHAT circuit board was replaced ?.

Answer
The only electronic components that have problems that I know of are;

1. POWER MODULE.

2. PROGRAMMER.

3. BCM. (Body Computer Module).

4. ECM.(Engine Control Module).

5. Central Power Supply.

6. Climate Control Panel.

7. Compressor Clutch Relay.

8. The magnetic clutch on the A/C compressor.

9. Blower Motor.

If you have the receipt of the name of the part that they replaced I can get a better idea of what the problem could be.

Usually when the fuse blows the most common fault is the MAGNETIC CLUTCH on the front of the A/C compressor.
