Cadillac Repair: Interior cadillac door, interior door panel, cadillac seville

Question
I bought a 93 Cadillac Seville for a fairly reasonable price in a local car auction.  I can only find one problem and that is the driver side door does not open from the inside.  The handle is not broken, but it does not seem to be connected to any thing at all as there is no resistance when you pull it.

My question, is this a fairly serious or costly problem?  Is this something I may be able to fix myself with limited mechanical skill?  And if not, how much should I plan on spending to repair?

Answer
It is most likely that the release rod got knocked off of the lock assembly that goes to the inside handle. This usually happens when someone tries to use a coat hanger to open the door from the outside down beside the window channel and they accidently knock off the rod.

Your biggest problem is getting the interior door panel off. Other than that it should be a very easy fix.
