Answer
Hi Joe, So what you are saying is the engine turns at a normal speed but will not start and run right? If that is the case you could have problems with the fuel pump check valve holding pressure in the lines. When that happens fuel pressure has to build up and fuel needs to fill the lines before it will spray from the injector. The other problem with a weak or bad fuel pump is it will only stay running for 2 seconds if the computor doesn't see that the engine is turning. So turning the key several times might be needed to get enough pressre to start the engine.

I would start by installing a fuel pressure gage and watch it as the engine is cranking and what the pressure does when the engine turns off. If the pressure drops off right away there are special adapters that go in the fuel lines that will keep the fuel from going back into the tank. If the pressure holds it is fuel pump time. If it doesn't hold then you have injector(s) or a fuel pressure regulator that is leaking and allowing the fuel to drain from the lines. Hope that helps. Bill
