About a year ago the heat mode was making a clicking sound, a mechanic turned it up to 90 then back to 72 and the clicking stopped, although the heat never worked again. Now the air conditioner will not engage the compressor. My mechanic jumped straight from the battery and it worked, said it was low on fluid and the compressor needed oil. Big Bucks. The computer reads 13 - 27 - 44 on the ECC and 2 on the MPG panel. I know what the codes mean,  but will they stop the compressor from working, or am I about to spend Big Bucks. Thanks.
Answer -
The CODES that you have will NOT prevent the A/C compressor from engaging. You most likely have a FREON leak in the A/C system and the system is LOW on freon, Thus the compressor will NOT engage.

The clicking sound that you had is caused by a faulty A/C PROGRAMMER motor within the PROGRAMMER.

quesion;          What is the fix for the A/C PROGRAMMER motor.

Answer
They used to make a PROGRAMMER motor that you simply removed the PROGRAMMER from the vehicle and replaced the motor, But I am NOT sure if they are still available.

Your other option is to replace the PROGRAMMER ASSEMBLY. Approx $200.00.

Installing this programmer there is a VERY CRITICAL adjustment that MUST be made or you will destroy the new PROGRAMMER MOTOR.

On ascale of 1 to 10. 10 being extremly difficult, This job would be a 4.

IF you want to replace it yourself let me know via my e-mail address.
