Cadillac Repair: starter, jumper cables, battery cables

Question
i have a 1991 deville, after i turn the car off i have to wait at least 1 to 2 hours before the car will start again. the car is not running hot it just will not fire back up. is there not enough spark getting to the starter or is the starter going bad. i put a brand new battery in and i am still having the same problem. last week i stop an cut the off an had to get a jump start. what is the problem? thank you so much and may god bless you

Answer
In other words if the engine will NOT turn over and start UNLESS you use jumper cables from another vehicle this tells me that your battery cable connections at the battery are internally corroded and should be replaced or replace BOTH battery cables.

I would have the battery re-tested also.
