Hi Daniel, That must be a fluky thing because there really isn't anything that should have been disturbed. If you recheck the things that you did maybe there was a connector that you left off or maybe a fuse blew. What you need to do is see what is missing. Check for fuel and spark and go from there. If you suspect a lack of fuel then give a 2-3 seconds shot of carb spray down the throttlebody. If it starts or trys to then look for resons for no or weak fuel. If no spark then maybe the module or coil decided to fail. Not much else I can suggest until you determine what isn't there...spark or fuel. Bill
ok i think i got it it seems that the car jumped time and now i gotta set the timing it seems to get gas and spark just missing the starting part so how to i set the time i keep reading something about an aldl connector will i be able to save this car or will it be toast hope you can help

Answer
Hi Daniel, Once the engine is running jumpering 2 terminals at the ALDL or diagnostic connector will put the engine at base timing/no advance. But to check that the timing has jumped you need to remove the #1 spark plug and remove the battery single wire connector from the distributor cap. Then place your finger over the sparkplug hole and have someone bump the engine over. When #1 is ready to fire there will be a rush of air from the sparkplug hole and when that happens line up the timing mark on the balancer with 10 on the timing tab and the rotor should point near cylinder #1 terminal. You might be able to pull on the belt or use the alternator bolt or harmonic balancer bolt to turn the engine to get the mark right on. If the rotor doesn't line up you could loosen the dist. 15mm bolt and rotate it to line up or if it did jump a tooth then completely remove the dist. and reinstall it so the rotor points correctly. If that doesn't get it started then you'll need to have it towed to a shop so they can figure out whats wrong. Bill
