Answer
Hi Jay, I run into this situation alot especially when working on the older cars. With experiance I know when something is too rusty and needs some heat useing a brazing torch tip to loosen the rust before the pipe breaks. You do have to watch how much heat is used at a hose joint because too much will cause the hose to burst off the fitting and spray braky fluid with a loud pop noise.
Now that you need a new line repaired/installed you will need a tube bender and pipe flareing kit unless you can get 1 length of pipe to fit. Then you determine the type and length of tube...they come straight...remove the old one and bend the new tube to match the old one. Then put and tighten it in place and bleed the brake fluid to get the air out. Make sure to keep fluid in the master cylinder at all times or air will get into it and then the master cylinder and all the lines will need to be bled. This job might be best done by a shop if you are unsure what to do and UNDER NO CONDITIONS ARE YOU TO TRY AND REPAIR THE LEAK WITH A RUBBER HOSE AND HOSE CLAMPS. It will not work and you will be lucky not to get into an accedent. To see instructions on flareing grab a book on plumbing repairs and in there will be a chapter on how to flair and bend pipe. Hope I was of some help. Bill
