how to replace the old compressor with another one on a 1995 sedan deville 4.9
Answer -
Hi Thomas, Did you mean the a/c compressor or the level ride compressor for the rear shocks. Let me know so I can give the correct advice. Bill.     Hello bill, I did mean a/c compressor, thank you

Answer
Hi Thomas, The replacement isn't too difficult. 1) If there is still freon in the system then you need to take the car and have the freon evacuated by a shop. 2) Remove the serpentine belt. 3) raise up the car safely on stands or ramps so you can get undernieth. 4) Put on some safety glasses and then remove the bolt from the compressor that holds the freon line slowly because there is probably still some freon inside and then remove the hose assembly. 5) remove the bracket and bolts at the front and rear that hold the compressor. 6) Drain the oil from the oil compressor into a measureing cup and add the same same ammount to the new compressor or if less than 2oz of oil is removed add 2 oz a/c oil. 7) reverse the procedure to install 8) take it back to the shop so they can evacuate the air in the system and add the correct amount of freon. 9) clear the codes
If you need more specific instructions or torque specs then you will need to get a shop manual. Bill
