Cadillac Repair: ticking sound in 99 eldorado, high octane gas, gasoline additive

Question
My car has 113000 miles and just started a ticking noise under the hood.  I always use high octane gas and recently put a gasoline additive it the gas tank.  The ticking does it all the time not just in idle.  I know it's time for a tune up but, I don't want to be taken advantage of when I take it to the shop.  I put the additive in when I was working with a client and he heard me crank it, he said that it was hard starting because the injectors were dirty.

Answer
Hoe STUPID, Mkaing a diagnosis such as "he said that it was hard starting because the injectors were dirty. Just from hearing you start the engine.

They need this person in DETROIT.

What the ticking IS, depends upon the sOUND of the pitch in the ticking. As in a ticking like a mechanical clock makes to a ticking like a noise like a stick stuck in an electric fan.

I would need to haer it.
