Cadillac Repair: Fluctuating PSI Oil meter, oil pressure gauge, oil pressure switch

Question
I have a 1998 Cadillac Catera that has 51,000 miles on it..  I noticed that the oil pressure gauge Flucuates between 80 and 20.... Could this be a sign of bad things ahead, and is there any provenative thing I could do to Resolve this...?

Could be a faulty oil pressure switch or dash gage.

Did you have ANY recent work of ANYKIND performed on the vehicle ?. Oil change ?.

Suggest that you have an external, KNOWN GOOD, Oil pressure gage installed in the oil circuit to see exactly what pressures you have.
